SOUTH: Care Team Development
— Caring for others is one of the most Christlike things we can do as followers of Jesus —but caring for others well doesn’t come naturally to all of us. As members of the Volunteer Care Team, we want to keep growing in our ability to walk with people through the unique seasons of suffering, sickness, and change that people encounter. To do this we need to grow in wisdom, compassion, and spiritual depth.
The resources below are designed to help you deepen your understanding of biblical care, strengthen your presence with others, and develop the kind of heart that reflects Jesus in every season of care.
The plan is to take the next 3 months to engage in these resources. Read thoughtfully and slowly, highlight & think about how what you’re reading applies to your own story and stories where you’ve walked with others. Process ways you’ve been cared for well, or maybe situations or seasons where you lacked what you needed.
When you finish each month's work, fill out the short reflection to help you digest what you’ve read and to pace your work through the resources.
