MASCULINE VIRTUE

Leadership For The Home, Church, & World

Masculine Virtue Men's Event

There is a critical need in this moment to rediscover masculine virtue, recapture the imaginations of men, and develop masculine leaders for their homes, the church, and the world. The health of every generation hinges on masculine leadership, but the needs of this moment are unique.

In late 2022, the leadership at Frontline Church began to feel a burden for the men of the church to be reminded of who God has called them to be: free from the weights that steal their identity. In January of 2023, 600 men gathered to hear God’s word, worship, pray for each other, and turn their hearts back to God.

These are the messages, confessions, and reflections that filled our time together.

Masculine Creed

I am a man. Made by God. Made for God.
I am not my own.
I belong to God, body, and soul.
and fear Him above all peoples.
I reflect my Father’s goodness
to my family and the world around me as a provider and a protector.
I take responsibility for my actions
and watch over what God has given to me.
I give my life away
having a kingdom vision for the world,
zeal for the house of the Lord,
and a godly ambition to advance the kingdom of God through my work.
I yield my life—
my heart’s wanderings, my mind’s imagination,
my soul’s longings, and my strength’s abilities—
to faith in Jesus.
I surrender to a fraternity
of Christian brothers who know me, fight for me, fight alongside me,
and offer me faithful wounds
that I would follow Jesus more deeply.
I am a man. Made by God. Made for God.
I will be watchful, stand firm,
act like a man, be strong,
and do everything in love.

Affirmations & Denials

God displays his great glory and we receive His great joy
through the profound differences between men and women
and how these differences complete and beautify each other.
Deep in every man and woman is the insignia of humanity, the image of God,
reflecting all God’s beauty as male and female.
We affirm the strength of masculinity.
We affirm that strength is a good gift to the world and essential for the home, church, and society.
We affirm Christ-like, humble, loving, sacrificial men taking responsibility for leadership, provision, and protection.
We deny strength is incompatible with gentleness.
We deny masculinity as toxic.
We deny and lament all forms of disrespect, abuse, and exploitation of women and girls
We affirm the glory of femininity.
We affirm that femininity is a good gift to the world and essential for the home, church, and society.
We affirm femininity as life-giving and how it supports a man who leads, provides, and protects.
We deny that men and women are interchangeable.
We deny the deletion of gender differences.
We deny that culture has power to define gender differences outside of God.
We celebrate that men and women are
Equal in their personhood and honored as humans in the image of God
Equal in their calling to zealously respect and honor one another and called to live in harmonious cooperation
Equal in their calling to highlight in each other the unique qualities that make for mutual enrichment
And equal in the participation of the coming enjoyment of the revelation of the glory of God.
