Lent is a 40-day season in the historic church calendar that leads to Good Friday and Easter. It invites us to take a season to prepare ourselves, repent of sin, and return from places we've drifted in order to follow Jesus again to the central place of God's display of love, the cross. Luke 9 tells us Jesus "set his face to go to Jerusalem." This moment of decision was a conscious choice to go redeem his people through his own suffering. As followers of Jesus, we want to set our hearts toward him, as he set his face toward accomplishing our salvation. Join us this Lenten season as we look at moments in the Gospel of Luke that invite us to encounter Jesus on his journey to the cross.
