Depending on your upbringing, “Family Worship” can invoke a myriad of thoughts. For some of you, this concept is entirely new. For others, if you’re anything like me, it might bring to mind a family dressed in denim, playing instruments together. For some men, it may conjure fears of finding out the key to healthy family discipleship involves getting up at 5 AM to write short sermonettes to share with your kids over breakfast.
The idea of family worship can feel intimidating when we think about it the wrong way, but it’s actually a simple, powerful expression of a Christian family walking with Jesus together on a regular basis. As a church, we want to share a simple and practical resource for practicing family worship in your home. Whether you’re living with roommates, newly married without kids, or have been married for 20 years with a house full of children, the regular practice of reading the Bible, praying, and worshipping God through song can have a profound impact on your walk with Jesus.
The Family Worship Guide provides a framework for practicing Deuteronomy 6 in our homes together.
