Thank you for your interest in becoming a Frontline community group leader; we are so excited to begin this process with you! The following steps are meant to help you navigate the journey of becoming a community group leader as you prepare to launch and lead a healthy community group that labors to multiply gospel communities that love God, love people, and push back darkness.
(1) Watch the Community Group Leader Training videos
These videos will lay the groundwork for your time as a community group leader. Do not move on to the next step until you have completed all four training sessions.
- Session One: Why (10:26)
- Session Two: What (12:21)
- Session Three: How (13:24)
(2) Complete the Gospel Self-Assessment
Download this editable document and fill it out on your computer, where you will be able to save your work and return to it later. When you are finished, you will click the link at the end of the assessment for your correct congregation and upload your completed assessment there or print it out and turn in a hard copy to your community director. (If you've already completed the Gospel Self-Assessment as part of your apprenticeship process, you don't need to fill it out again.)
(3) Meet with your community director and hub leaders for a formal assessment
Once you’ve submitted the Gospel Self-Assessment, your community director will schedule this meeting. Afterward, if your leaders feel you are ready to step into this role, you will be provided with next steps. After completing those necessary steps, you will be ready to move on. Before moving on, every candidate must be in compliance with Frontline’s MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training policy. Your community director will let you know how to proceed.
(4) Get Commissioned on a Sunday
This is an opportunity for the church to pray over you and send you out as your group prepares to launch... but it's also a chance for you to do some free advertising! Formally request to be commissioned, and make sure all the details for your new group are locked in (e.g., launch date, time, place, etc.) by filling out the Launch Checklist.
(5) Gather your group and go through basic training
As you step into leadership, you will receive a copy of our Community Group Leader Manual and your group will be equipped with the community group Basic Training curriculum (you’ll want to utilize this curriculum during the first 12 to 24 weeks). In addition to that, your hub leaders will always be just a phone call away! (If you're multiplying out of an existing group, you can also work with your hub leaders to plan a multiplication party with your sending group.)
