This cohort runs from September to April. It is designed to help you consider a potential call towards this role. Through this training, we hope to equip men and women in leadership and ministry skills.
Upon registering online, you will be mailed a physical copy of a written personal assessment for you to fill out. The assessment asks questions regarding your story, character, home life, and calling. If you are married, your spouse will answer a few questions about your character. This assessment must be returned using the provided self-addressed envelope and postmarked by Monday, July 13.
We understand that many who are invited into this cohort may not fully understand what a deacon is. In order to get us on the same page, we are asking all participants to read the short book Deacons by Matt Smethurst prior to completing the personal assessment. This book can be read in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, and it gives a biblical vision for the office, explaining why deacons matter for the local church
